There are numerous application areas for the machine tools sector. Following the supportive economic measures laid down by the Chinese government to continue the domestic economic growth, the machine tools industry may start to see some positive signs.
To thoroughly meet market demands of today's customers, Chinese machine tool players need to gain the latest market information and develop internationally advanced technologies that can truly benefit domestic application industries and contribute to the further development of the Chinese machine tool industry as a whole.
For four consecutive issues from this edition onwards, CMJ will present a new section of "Treasure Hunting in User Industries" under the column of "Advanced Manufacturing Technology". Interesting areas including ship-building, molding, railway transportation equipment, automobile, aviation and aerospace, new energy industries, as well as related solutions from the machine tools industry will be covered.
In the column of this issue, CMJ focuses on two areas: ship-building and molding. On a special page of ship-building, articles discussing the China Ship Industrial Economic Research Center and how Chinese equipment suppliers reacted with the current economic downturn are included. Underdeveloped segments are explored, in addition to an introduction of a promising Chinese city of ship building -Wuhan, followed by a report of the recent opening of a ship-building trade exhibition.
On a special page of die and molding, the China Die & Mould Industrial Association revealed the latest market trends of the Chinese die and molding industry in an updated paper. Meanwhile, two users of machine tools share their views on the importance of quality in the company development.
Besides, our current issue also turns spotlight to wind energy industry, reporting on the efforts that machine tools manufacturers have made to expand the applications in this specific area.
We are already half way through the year 2009. Despite the financial crisis, people in the industry have been striving to create a better future with the knowledge and wisdom accumulated so far from past experiences, or lessons.
