CIMES' Organizers and MM Modern Manufacturing magazine, the leader in industry media, firstly launched China International Metalworking Summit during CIMES 2004, which has attracted wide attention from and warmly received in the industry and has been successfully held for five consecutive years. The 6th China International Metalworking Summit will be held on June 13 on Beijing Landmark Towers Hotel. This Summit has been determined to be under the theme "Embrace New Challenges from Green Energy" which is the hot topic, on which users, famous experts and scholars, leading technology providers, policy-makers in metalworking in such new energy sectors as wind power, hydropower, solar power and nuclear power sector from home and abroad will be invited to participate in dialogue.

With technological advancement, expansion of production scale and continuous improvement on policy mechanism, nuclear energy, solar energy, wind power, geothermal energy for heating and power generation, biomass energy will gradually enjoy the capability for competing with conventional energy and become effective clean alternative energy in the future fifteen years.

With the initiation of 2009 New Energy Vitalization Program, the government of China plans to invest three trillion yuan in developing new energy. China's green energy industry attracts worldwide attention. Boosted by robust growth of green energy industry, related equipment manufacturing sectors develop rapidly, and production of related functional components has become the bright spot of fastest growth in machining sector, thus generating huge market demand for advanced metalworking equipment.

Currently, there are several hundred of enterprises specializing in manufacturing new energy components in China, which much surpasses the average number in the developed countries and come under increasingly fierce market competition. Adopting efficient and appropriate machining equipment to improve production efficiency serves as the most direct and effective way to sharpen the competitive edge of enterprises. Moreover, how to effectively utilize and optimize the existing equipment amidst adjustment of industrial structure and increasing demand for high-end equipment has become the current pressing issue to which great importance should be attached for these emerging industries.

With CIMES2010 as the background, the 6th China International Metalworking Summit focuses on the opportunities and challenges for metalworking in new energy field, on which the participating distinguished guests will be present to jointly explore the best solution by means of subject-specific speeches and exhibitions and dialogue and other means. It is believed that tight schedule on June 13, the day following the inaugurating of this Summit, will bring about extraordinary inspiration for you.
