Delta Faucet Co. reported it plans to combine the machining operations of two plants at Greensburg, Ind., and Jackson, Tenn. About 40 positions will be eliminated at Greensburg, and 20 new posts will be created at Jackson.
The plumbing fixtures manufacturer said the decision is a result of continuing weakness in the U.S. housing market, declining retail activity, and general weakness in the domestic economy.
Delta said the transition will be phased over three months. Delta's Indianapolis headquarters and Morgantown, Ky., components plant will not affected by these moves. The Greensburg plant will continue to operate as a finishing operation for Delta products.
