Combined with the 3M abrasive product range, it is claimed to deliver a complete system for refining and finishing stainless steel. Each of the two models in the range features a 1HP air motor that is said to provide high torque performance, resulting in constant speed under load. According to 3M this help deliver the best results from the abrasive product.
The compact design features a fully adjustable side-handle collar, improving operator control, with 3M's Greptile gripping material providing a more secure grip with less effort. An adjustable multi-directional exhaust feature allows the airflow to be directed away from the operator for comfort and safety.
Accessories include a 5/8in spindle extension, a rubber-slotted expander wheel or a pneumatic drum. Used in conjunction with the 3M belt 947D with 3M Cubitron Abrasive Grain, the sander can refine imperfections and fibre disc scratch marks to provide a suitable finish prior to final blending. Complementing this is the 3M Scotch-Brite surface conditioning belt SC-BS, which can be used to blend 947D coated belt scratch marks to produce a consistent satin finish.
